01-20-2009 - In Fort Lupton, the Bluedevils struggled with the size of Ridgeview and dropped their Class 4A/5A Skyline League opener.

Armando Salgado had 16 points and four assists for the Bluedevils (0-1 4A/5A Skyline, 6-9 overall), and Clint Cook grabbed eight rebounds. Eric Frazier scored 19 for Fort Lupton.

Fort Lupton 54 vs Kennedy 35

01-16-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - The Bluedevils snapped a 5 game losing streak to get a non-conference win against the Kennedy Commanders from the 4A Denver Prep league. The Bluedevils came out in the second half and applied full court pressure causing the Commanders to turn the ball over leading to easy layups. The Bluedevils also went 17-of-19 from the charity stripe in the second half.

Tyler Williamson led the Bluedevils (6-8) with 11 points, including 4-of-4 from the line, and was the only Fort Lupton player to reach double figures. Fort Lupton forward Clint Cook just missed a double-double with nine points and a team-leading 12 rebounds.

01-13-2009 - Henderson, CO - Fort Lupton played well in the first half and cut the lead to just 4 points just before halftime, but Prairie View exploded in the 2nd half outscoring the Bluedevils by 18 points. Aaron Browne had a double-double with 12 rebounds and 12 points, but Fort Lupton (0-0 Class 4A/5A Skyline League, 5-8 overall) was unable to stop Prairie View’s offense in the Bluedevils’ loss. Tyler Williamson added 15 points for Fort Lupton.

Fort Lupton 49 vs. University 52 

01-09-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO  - The Bluedevils played well against the visiting University Bulldogs, but they weren't able to come away with the win. University rallied in the fourth quarter to steal a three point win.
Fort Lupton (5-7 overall) leading scorer Armando Salgado had a chance to give his team the lead with 10 seconds left and the Bluedevils down 50-49, but his shot bounced off the front of the rim. University (3-6) made two free throws to complete the comeback victory.

Fort Lupton 43 vs Rock Canyon 76

01-08-2009 - Highlands Ranch, CO -  The Bluedevils made seven 3-pointers but it wasn't enough against an athletic and fast paced Rock Canyon team. Fort Lupton committed 25 turnovers and struggled to slow down the Jaguars as they jumped out to an early lead. The Bluedevils were able to come back a bit in the 3rd quarter but it wasn't able to overcome the 1st half deficit.

Armando Salgado led the team with nine points and Sophomore Clint Cook added 6 points on two 3 pointers. With the loss Fort Lupton drops to (5-6 overall) on the season.

01-06-2009 - Northglenn, CO - In Northglenn, Sophomore Clint Cook scored 16 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and snagged two steals. The Bluedevils (5-5 overall) were unable to keep pace with Northglenn in a nonleague matchup.

Fort Lupton 51 vs Sterling 73

12-20-2008 Sterling, CO - In Sterling, the Bluedevils played well in the 1st half against the 3rd ranked 4A Sterling Tigers, but foul trouble late in the 1st half and the full court press from the Tigers were too much for the Bluedevils to ovecome down the stretch. This loss drops the Bluedevils to (5-4 overall).  The Bluedevils played the game short handed with injuries and kids fighting the flu, but they fought hard till the end of the game. Sophomore Clint Cook added two 3 pointers and Andrew Ornelas had 3 steals in the final 3 minutes.

Tyler Williamson finished with 12 points to lead Fort Lupton in their nonleague loss to Sterling. The Bluedevils trailed 36-29 at halftime.

Fort Lupton 46 vs Silver Creek 32

12-18-2008 Longmont, CO - In Longmont, the Bluedevils (5-3 overall, 0-0 conference) struggled in the 1st quarter but then got things going in the 2nd half for a quality non-conference win against the Silver Creek Raptors, the Bluedevils outscored the Raptors 21 - 9 in the 4th quarter. The pace of the game favored the Raptors but the Bluedevils played great defense forcing the Raptors to shoot from the outside and controlling the rebounds which proved to be the difference. Fort Lupton connected on six 3-pointers, to zero from the Raptors, it was the outside shooting down the stretch that broke the game wide open. The Bluedevils were led by Tyler Williamson's game high 23 points which included three 3-pointers. 


Aaron Browne and Andrew Ornales added eight rebounds each to help the Bluedevils (5-3 overall) stop the Silver Creek offense.

Fort Lupton 58 vs Estes Park 75

In Estes Park, the Bluedevils started slowly and weren't able to recover against the 3A Estes Park Bobcats from the Patriot League, in a non league game, this loss drops the Bluedevils to (4-3 overall). The Estes Park Bobcats took advantage of their opportunities from the foul line connecting on 26 of 32 free throws and were led in scoring by Peter Boyatt with a game high 27 points.  

Armando Salgado led the Bluedevils with 17 points, three assists and three steals while Tyler Williamson had nine points with three assists and three steals. Aaron Browne added 11 points and five rebounds for the Bluedevils.

Fort Lupton 55 vs Ridgeview Academy 58

12-11-2008 - The Bluedevils traveled to Ridgeview Academy to battle the Raptors in a non-conference battle of the two Skyline league teams. This was the first of 2 meetings between the two, and I am sure the Bluedevils can't wait for the grudge match early next year at their place. The Bluedevils jumped out to a 28 - 21 first half lead, but weren't able to hold on down the stretch losing a close one 58 - 55. The Bluedevils were led by Tyler Williamson's game high 21 points, and Armando Salgado's solid performance with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

The Bluedevils drop to (4-2 overall) and will be on the road next week for 3 games with key games against Silver Creek and Sterling from the 4A Northern Conference.

Englewood 64 vs Fort Lupton 95

Fort Lupton - Last night the Bluedevils in their first home game of the season jumped out early against Englewood in a 4A non-conference game.  The visiting Pirates from the Jeffco 4A league, couldn't find an answer for the full court pressure and struggled to find any good scoring opportunities, therefore the Bluedevils coasted to an easy 95 - 64 win. Tyler Williamson had his best outing this season with a game high 31 points, 6 steals, and added 4 assists. Junior Eric Frazier added 17 with three 3 ptr's, and Armando Salgado added 10 points and 4 assists. The Bluedevils had all 11 players score in the game.

The Bluedevils (4-1 overall) are off to a great start.

Fort Lupton 64 vs. Elizabeth 51
 
The Bluedevils were able to win the Frederick tournament by defeating Elizabeth from the 4A Jeffco league. The Bluedevils were led by Senior Tyler Williamson who scored 18 points and also had 3 assists. Aaron Browne helped control the boards with 10 rebounds and also scored 10 points.  Armando Salgado again had a solid all around game with 10 points, 4 assists and a couple of steals.
 
Erie 70 vs. Fort Lupton 79
 
The Bluedevils won a non league game against the 3A Tigers in the Frederick tournament on Friday night.  The Tigers press was no match for the devils as they easily broke the press for easy baskets in transition. The key to the game was the quick start by the Bluedevils who jumped out to a 36 - 29 halftime lead and extended it to a 16 point lead going into the 4th quarter. The Bluedevils were led by Junior Eric Frazier's 18 points and 13 rebounds. Seniors Calvin Garcia, Tyler Williamson, and Armando Salgado also played well. Garcia added 14 points, Williamson and Salgado both finished with 8 points. Salgado also had four assists and 5 steals.

Fort Lupton 71 vs. Frederick 51

The Bluedevils bounced back for a good win in its second game of the season at the Frederick tournament on Tuesday night. They beat the tournament host Frederick by a score of 71 - 51. The game was close in the first quarter until the Bluedevils started pressing the host Warriors causing them to commit more than a dozen turnovers in the 2nd and 3rd quarters leading to easy transition baskets for the Bluedevils. The Bluedevils were once again led by Calvin Garcia who had a game high 19 points this time hitting three 3 ptrs. The Bluedevils Eric Frazier and Armando Salgado both pitched in 15 points, and Tyler Williamson added 7 points, 4 assists and 8 rebounds.

Northridge 73 vs. Fort Lupton 58
 
The Bluedevils kicked off their first game of the seson on the road against the Northridge Grizzlies from the 4A Northern Conference, and unfortunately came away with a 73 - 58 loss. The Varsity team played well and was led by Calvin Garcia's five 3 ptrs and game high 19 points, but it wasn't enough to hold off the Grizzlies who outscored the Bluedevils 21 - 14 in the 4th quarter to pull away for the victory. Tyler Williamson added 12 points and Armando Salgado had 17 points and added 5 assists. The JV and Freshman teams lost their season openers as well.

Fort Lupton 53 vs Brighton 51

01-30-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - The Bluedevils won their third straight Skyline Conference game on Friday night 53 - 51  improving their conference record to 3-0 and 8-6 overall. The Bluedevils played a complete game, but struggled from the foul line while Brighton did not which kept them in the ball game. The Bluedevils shot just 4 of 16 from the foul line and Brighton went 18 for 26. 

The Bluedevils were led by Brit Ellerman's 5 three pointers, two of which came in the fourth quarter and Ricky Acosta added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Jake Bernhard again owned the glass with 14 rebounds and 7 points.  

Fort Lupton 59 vs Prairie View 52

01-27-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - The Bluedevils won their second Skyline Conference game on Tuesday night 59 - 52  improving their conference record to 2-0 and 7-6 overall. The game was close throughout but the Bluedevils never did lose a single quarter, the closest was the 4th quarter which the Bluedevils outscored the Prairie View Thunderhawks by just one point.  The Bluedevils were led in scoring by Joey Jenkins 15 points and David Engel's 12 points.  Jake Bernhard chipped in 7 points and 14 rebounds and Kodi Heinz added 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Fort Lupton 40 vs Ridgeview Academy 37

01-20-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - In the Bludevils first Skyline Conference game, they jumped out early and held on late for a 3 point win against the Ridgeview Raptors. The Bluedevils were led by a strong second half performance from Sophomore Kodi Heinz 14 points and 10 rebounds in the second half. Brit Ellerman added 9 points including 2 three pointers and chipped in 3 assists. This improved the JV record to 6-6 on the year and 1-0 in the 4A/5A Skyline Conference.

Fort Lupton 61 vs Kennedy 38

01-16-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - The Bluedevils jumped out early at home and never looked back in a quality non-conference win agains the Kennedy Commanders from the 4A Denver Prep League. The Bluedevils had a trio of players score 12 points each. Max Aragon, Joey Jenkins, and Rhett Richards. Jake Bernhard led the team in rebounding with 7 rebounds and also added 9 points. The win snaps a 4 game losing streak for the Bluedevils and improved their record to 5-6 overall.

Fort Lupton 51 vs Prairie View 53

01-13-2009 - Henderson, CO - The Bluedevils struggled to score in the 1st quarter only managing four points, quickly falling behind by 12 points. The Bluedevils outscored the Prairie View Thunderhawks in the remaining three quarters but just weren't able to overcome the 1st quarter deficit. The Bluedevils tied it up at 51 with just 3 seconds remaining. Then on the ensuing inbounds play the Bluedevils fouled, giving the Thunderhawks a chance to win it at the foul line, but after missing both free throws the ball bounced out of bounds off a Bluedevils player and with just 1.2 seconds remaining the Thunderhawks threw a lob pass to the post for the game winning shot. 

Despite the loss, the Bluedevils showed their ability to come from behind. The Bluedevils were led by Kodi Heinz 9 points and 14 rebounds. Joey Jenkins scored 11 points and Brit Ellerman added 10 points and 3 assists. This loss drops the Bluedevils JV record to 4-6.

Fort Lupton 53 vs University 60

01-09-2009 - Fort Lupton, CO - The Bluedevils fell behind early and couldn't recover in the second half of a non-conference game against the 3A University Bulldogs. The Bluedevils cut the lead to 4 points with just 3 minutes to play but was unable to pull off the comeback. Joey Jenkins scored a game high 18 points and Kodi Heinz added 11 points and 7 rebounds. This is the 3rd straight loss for the Bluedevils dropping them to 4-5 on the season.

Fort Lupton 35 vs Rock Canyon 86

01-08-2009 - Highlands Ranch, CO - The Bluedevils were soundly beat on Thursday night by the Rock Canyon Jaguars. The leading scorer for the Bluedevils was Junior Guard, Ricky Acosta who played well with 9 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.  The JV are now 4-4 on the season. 

Fort Lupton 39 vs Northglenn 53

01-06-2009 - Northglenn, CO  - The Junior Varsity struggled early and then late against Northglenn. The Bluedevils were held to just 5 points in the 1st quarter and fell behind early against the Norsemen. The Bluedevils battled back in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to take a 2 point lead into the fourth, but the depth and experience of Northglenn proved to much for the Bluedevils losing 53 - 39.

The Bluedevils were led by Freshman Mikey Gomez 10 points and Dallas Hansen's 6 points and 4 rebounds. The Bluedevils fall to 4-3 on the season, with the next game @ Rock Canyon Thursday night.

Fort Lupton 56 vs Sterling 46

12-20-2008 - Sterling, CO  - The Junior Varsity played well and had a complete game in defeating the Sterling Tigers in Sterling.This win improves the JV record to 4-2 on the season.The Bluedevils had 11 players score in the game and were led by Sophomore Kodi Heinz 10 points and 7 rebounds in the game. 

Fort Lupton 39 vs Silver Creek 45

12-18-2008 - Longmont, CO - The Junior Varsity battled against a very tall and athletic Silver Creek team, but came out on the short end with a 45 - 39 loss. The Bluedevils gave a great effort, but foul trouble and lack of rebounding down the stretch proved to much for the team to overcome. The Bluedevils were led by Brit Ellerman who scored 10 points and had 4 steals in the game and Freshman Mikey Gomez who entered the game with just under 2 minutes to play scored 7 points and added 1 steal.

Fort Lupton 62 vs Estes Park 52

12-16-2008 Estes Park, CO - The Junior Varsity started quickly jumping out to a 10 - 0 lead in the first 4 minutes, but Estes Park battled back to cut the lead to just 8 points going into the 4th quarter. The Bluedevils were able to hold on for a 62 -52 win, improving their record to (3-1 overall). Joey Jenkins led the Bluedevils with a game high 18 points, and a another good performance from Sophomore Clint Cook who chipped in with 9 points and 6 rebounds, before leaving early in the 3rd quarter for stitches in his head. The Bluedevils had 14 players play in the game with 10 players scoring at least 1 point in the game.

Ridgeview 65 vs Fort Lupton 66

12-11-2008 - The Junior Varsity was just able to hold off the Ridgeview Raptors nearly blowing a 19 point 4th quarter lead, for a 66-65 win moving their record to 2-1 overall. The Raptors battled back as their fans started to file into the gym late in the 3rd quarter, you could just feel the energy and enthusiasm pick up in the Raptors. However, the Bluedevils were able to regain their composure in the weaning minutes and make a few key shots and take control of a couple crucial rebounds. The Bluedevils were led by Sophomore Joey Jenkins game high 22 points, and a good performance from Sophomore Clint Cook who chipped in with 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Fort Lupton - The Junior Varsity also won their first home game evening their record to 1-1 on the season. Their win however was by a much closer margin, 63 - 61. The Bluedevils were led by Junior point guard David Engel's 22 points and 5 assists. Sophomore Clint Cook pitched in 9 points and added 10 rebounds, and Brit Ellerman had three 3 ptr's in the 1st half for 9 points. The Bluedevils trailed by 8 points with under 2 minutes to play but were able to get turnovers and convert them into points down the stretch.
